HI AGAIN!
I hope everyone is doing fine. I know a lot of you are getting ready for school, right? Well, guess what?
So Am I! Yay!
Later today, Mr. Shamil's friend Quinn is taking me to the Starlin Mall to shop for new clothes and school supplies! Mr. Shamil has this whole set of rules he wants me to follow once school starts but I don't understand why. I mean, they wrote up this whole 'backstory' for me that makes it seem like I'm a normal girl...but I'm not.
But I've gotten a lot of questions about what happened at Moore Park. I'm not allowed to say a lot--Mr. Shamil keeps talking about something called 'national security'--but I can say some things, right?
The truth is, I can't tell you a lot about what happened before I ended up in that crater in the park. I've been telling Mr. Shamil that I have these vague memories of moving through space, past stars and planets and stuff, but my first clear memories is of looking up at the people who were going to become my friends, who were looking down at me. Mr. Shamil is positive I was related to that girl my friends and I fought, but I don't know anything about her. The first thing I knew was Bluey helping me out of the crater and Simon putting his healing balm on my and wondering why it wasn't working. Crystal was tending to Soot, but she took a moment to look at me--and I felt there was some pressure in my head, as if she was trying to look in on it.
But by that time that girl had shown up showing off her powers and insisting I was betraying the Children of Oblivion, and I had to tell her that I didn't know what she was talking about! But my new friends jumped in to protect me, and they didn't even know me at the time, which was really sweet. It turns out that Soot was essential to stopping her. Simon explained that carbon is 'the King of Elements,' which among other things means its highly resistant to fire and can adapt into a variety of forms depending on what it bonds with...so he was able to protect us from her flame blasts while Simon and Bluey worked on a solution. I did my best to help, but I was still confused and woozy and not sure what was going on...but all our efforts allowed Crystal to reach into her psionic form and disperse it as far as she was able to before blacking out.
AEGIS originally wanted full custody of me, but my new friends stepped up and promised to look out for me....so that's why I divide my time between my apartment in AEGIS and hanging with my four BFFs! Mr. Shamil and Quinn are my 'handlers, and are trying their best to figure out what I'm about, and maybe what these Children of Oblivion are. Thankfully, they're letting the others help, and they all promise they won't let AEGIS hurt me...
I know some of you wonder why I look so human. Simon thinks its because I psionically scanned the people around me while I was also looking for a way to communicate, and my body adjusted so I would seem just like everyone else. I wonder if I look similar to Mr. Shamil is because I instinctively knew he would be responsible for me.
But enough about that! I'm so excited for my first shopping trip! Quinn says if I'm really good she'll take me to her favorite Greek restaurant!
Sadly, I'm only going to get school clothes, even though Mr. Shamil is insisting I wear a 'superhero uniform' when I'm helping my friends. I did an internet search for 'superhero uniforms,' and I found the one I wanted, but he said something about copyrights.
I mean, look at how cute this is...maybe we can make the 'S' into an 'E'?
